Dr Niya Gecheva is a Orthopaedics and Traumatology resident with a professional interest in paediatric orthopaedics, as well as the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions and injuries in both children and adults.
In her clinical practice, she focuses on early diagnosis, monitoring motor development and providing an individualised approach tailored to the needs of each patient.
Diagnosis and Treatment of Orthopaedic Injuries and Conditions
Dr Gecheva provides diagnosis, treatment and follow-up care for a wide range of orthopaedic conditions, including:
- flat feet and foot deformities;
- joint and limb pain;
- postural abnormalities and gait disorders;
- sports injuries;
- musculoskeletal injuries;
- congenital orthopaedic abnormalities;
- paediatric orthopaedic conditions.

Paediatric Orthopaedics and Motor Development Monitoring
Dr Niya Gecheva’s professional interests are focused on paediatric orthopaedics and the early detection of musculoskeletal developmental disorders. She provides assessment of motor development in children, gait evaluation and consultations for concerns such as poor posture, flat feet and foot deformities.
Ultrasound examination of children’s hip joints
Dr Gecheva performs ultrasound examinations of children’s hip joints for the early diagnosis and follow-up of conditions in infancy and early childhood.
Education and Qualifications
Dr Niya Gecheva graduated from the Medical University of Sofia in 2022. In 2025, she successfully defended her doctoral dissertation dedicated to quality of life in children with flat feet.
She is a member of the Bulgarian Medical Association and the European Paediatric Orthopaedic Society. Dr Gecheva actively participates in professional training programmes, congresses and specialised forums in the fields of Orthopaedics and Traumatology.
